Dear Friends,
LISTEN TO THIS WEEK’S PROGRAM WITH MARK JACOB, JEFF WEISS, AND ED FALLON
– Covering Trump’s war on Iran presents a unique challenge to the media – LISTEN
– Stephen Miller, the White nationalist calling the shots – LISTEN
– How best to navigate an increasingly corporate-controlled media – LISTEN
– April garden Q & A, with Kathy Byrnes – LISTEN
Mark and Jeff do a great job helping to navigate difficult conversations. Why difficult? In part because we have to call out Trump’s Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy and Homeland Security Advisor, Stephen Miller, for what he is: a full-fledged White nationalist.
Please give the show a listen. And check out Mark’s Substack, STOP THE PRESSES. He’s doing important work and we oughta help land him additional exposure.
Unrelated to this week’s program, but of great interest and concern to those of us in the upper Midwest, here’s the press release I sent out today about the Summit CO2 pipeline. Can you share it with at least one member of the media or blogiverse? (I think I made up that last word, but you know what I mean). Thanks!

Summit has always planned to use CO2 for oil extraction
Des Moines, Iowa — Bold Iowa today called out Summit Carbon Solutions for previously lying when it said it would sequester CO2 and not use it for Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR). Summit had previously ensured the public and state and local officials that the CO2 would be sequestered underground in North Dakota.
“They’ve been lying all along,” said Bold Iowa director, Ed Fallon. “In 2021, I asked Summit officials point blank if they would put in writing that they wouldn’t use CO2 for EOR. One official said’ ‘We can’t make the promise long term,’ and ‘commercial options might be available that are different than storing it underground.’”
“For Summit to pretend it cared about climate change and now to have removed any reference to climate from its website, shows the lack of integrity and corporate greed driving Summit’s business decisions,” continued Fallon.
A short video of the exchange between Fallon and Summit officials was recorded by Kathy Byrnes at Summit’s Hardin County, Iowa, meeting on September 13, 2021.
“So much for taking 2.6 million cars off the road,” concluded Fallon, referencing a commitment Summit made at the start of its effort to build the pipeline. “So much for giving a damn about the climate crisis. So much for being honest. This company is about one thing: making billions of dollars a year at the expense of taxpayers, farmers, land owners, and the planet.”
