Dear Friends,
Please stop-in today for my Send-Off Celebration at Raccoon River Brew Pub from 1:00-5:00. At 2:30 I’ll explain why I’m walking the pipeline route, and Robert Knuth and Sarah Spain will perform a Native American blessing ceremony for the land. They’ll use sage, sweet grass and cedar (in photo, with stole) that Robert gave me during last year’s Great March for Climate Action, gifts that were used during the March and that I have held onto for occasions such as this.
Sunday, I board the bus for southeast Iowa. Monday morning at 9:30, I begin the 400-mile trek along the proposed path of the pipeline with a 13.5-mile walk from Sandusky Cemetery to Donnellson. I’ll share a daily email message with you about what I experience, the people I meet and the land I’ll come to know more intimately. Throughout the day, I’ll post photos, videos and journal entries on my Facebook Page and on the Fallon Forum website. I’d love to have your support and involvement in any way you can help!
I’ll call-in to the Fallon Forum for a brief update every Monday at 11:00 a.m., and I’m thrilled that State Representative Dan Kelley will guest host during the five weeks I’m on the road. Dan’s a true public servant and has his hand on the pulse of activity at the Iowa Statehouse. He’ll do a great job, and I hope you’ll tune-in, and call-in to share your perspective.
The Fallon Forum airs Monday, 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. CST on KDLF 1260 AM (Des Moines) or online. Join the conversation by calling (515) 528-8122. You also can hear the Fallon Forum on KHOI 89.1 FM (Ames) at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday and on KPVL 89.1 FM (Postville) at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Thanks!
