Over the past ten months, President Trump has moved with alarming speed toward solidifying his complete control over the federal government.

Yet millions of Americans continue to speak up, act out, and refuse to be silenced, even as some big institutions (media, universities, law firms, corporations) have buckled.

No institution has buckled more completely than Congress, with Republicans conceding to the President their Constitutional role as an independent and equal branch of government.

But back in the summer, that started changing. Just a little. But enough to be noticed. And the primary agent of change?

Georgia Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene. She called Israel’s destruction of Gaza a genocide.

She criticized Trump for sending weapons to Ukraine.

She criticized mass deportations.

More recently, she slammed her own party for not doing more to alleviate the rising cost of health insurance.

Last week, despite intense pressure from the White House, Greene stood by her decision to call for the release of the Epstein files. That was the final straw for Trump, who responded by calling her Marjorie “Traitor” Greene.

Yep. Name calling. So presidential.

In contrast, here’s what Greene said on CNN last week: “I would like to say, humbly, I’m sorry for taking part in the toxic politics; it’s very bad for our country.

So take heart, America. The tide is turning. The MAGA mutiny has begun, and Cpt. Greene is leading the charge.

It’s been said that the Republican Party has become the Party of Donald Trump, with Republican candidates who receive Trump’s endorsement usually winning the nomination.

There’s no doubt that Trump will recruit a primary opponent for Greene. I think she’ll win handily.

Expect more Republican elected officials and Party leaders to begin to defect from Trump. Not Iowa’s Congresswoman Ashley Hinson, however. She’s now running for the US Senate, and she’ll have to run on her promise to be Trump’s “strongest ally in the Senate.

That quote will absolutely come back to bite Hinson. Maybe sooner, rather than later.

Thanks for reading, listening, and taking action.
