Buyer’s regret

Dear Friends,

Check out THIS WEEK’S FULL PODCAST, with Jeffrey Weiss, Kathy Byrnes, and me:

(01:20) Iowa removes protected class; 21st century train heists;
(09:31) Buyer’s regret;
(16:06) Zelenskyy confronts White House bully squad;
(37:53) Why the film No Other Land should be a game changer;
(52:55) March Garden Q & A.

REPUBS GET TOUGH ON TRANS IOWANS.
Iowa used to be the state known for leading the way on civil rights. Last week, the Republican trifecta at the Statehouse led the way in a different direction. We’re now the first state in the history of the country to remove a class of people from the civil rights code.

On the positive side, an astounding number of pro-equality Iowans showed up at the Capitol to loudly announce their anger at the lawmakers supporting such a draconian measure.

TRAIN ROBBERS.
It’s not just an old Wild West sort of thing. Nike has had millions of dollars worth of shoes stolen from trains transporting merch across the Mojave Desert. Not good, of course, but I gotta admit the creativity of this new brand of rail robber is pretty impressive.

TRUMP IS LOSING SUPPORT.
I won’t say a lot about it here and will simply encourage you to listen to this week’s program. More and more Trump voters are coming to realize that what’s transpiring at the White House is not what they voted for.

UKRAINE.
Jeffrey and I discuss the astounding display of discourteous behavior by the President and Vice President toward the Ukrainian leader during his recent visit. Leading up to that, we look at the analysis of Ukraine by Professor Glenn Diesen — which is not the perspective you’ll find in the corporate media.

NO OTHER LAND.
After viewing this heart-wrenching documentary produced by four Palestinian and Jewish film-makers, Kathy and I were thrilled to learn that it won an Oscar for Best Documentary. While shameful that most national distributors declined to screen the film, perhaps they’ll reconsider after it won an award. They should, as No Other Land‘s message is clear and urgent.

FARM AND FOOD.
It being the first week of the month, Kathy and I answer some of the garden questions popping up as the Upper Midwest rolls into spring. Wait, what’s that? Blizzard coming later this week? Argh, the Heartland.

Thanks for reading, listening, and taking action. — Ed Fallon
